[Single Review] Mika Nakashima x Kato Miliyah - Fighter

Can someone tell Kato Miserableface to close her damn eyes? They freakin' me out

When I first read the news about Mika Nakashima and Kato Miserableface's collaboration, my body was already activated to pop its pussy to whatever hot dance track they would be capable of dropping us.

This ultimately proved to be a bad idea because of the tremendous disappointment that ensued:

I can definitely sense the sexual tension between the two of them (I always sensed Miliyah would bat for the other team) but the song is utter shit. It's just... a boring rock track. Nothing more, nothing less.

Mika's voice in the verses is also reaaaaaaally weird juxtaposed to Kato Miliyah's. At least they sound decent together in the chorus, I'll give them that. Other than "YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I LIVE FORRRRrRrRrRrRr" (RrRrRr = Mika's vibrato) which gets really annoying after a while.

But just when you thought they weren't done with this nonsense, they come up with a ~*world cup*~ remix that not only had a rearrangement for an overall more upbeat and happy vibe, but was also sung entirely in English!!!... oh no.

Okay, Kato Miserableface at the very least sounds legible here with brilliant pronunciation. And she's actually showing happy emotions on her face. But Mika Nakashima on the other hand... is a huge mess who looks like she doesn't know what's going on.

Both of them are literally just standing there awkwardly holding a soccer ball / pom pom and with Mika looking so scrawny and frail, making her stand all by herself makes me wanna just run over and give her support. Literally. Cuz bitch looks like she's about to crumble and fall any second. And I CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOUR ENGLISH GURL!!! Are you even "stunding on solid grlaond" with your grasp of the language?? She sounds like she's singing in another language the whole time!

Gift, the other song on the single, is definitely a more well-executed effort. You can definitely hear how great they sound together and individually without Mika Nakashima's obnoxious vibrato getting in the way at all. This collaboration single isn't all bad after all! Would honestly love more collaborations like this coming from the two of them. OR the pussy-popping dance track my body will always be ready for.

3/10
