[Music Video] Namie Amuro - Heaven

I'm just crying at all this language ambiguity that Namiengrish Amuro is giving me right now. The PV for HAIRBOON! premiered and was titled so because that's where all your faves will go to after this album drops.

Weeks ago Namie uploaded a photo of her doing some kamehameha shizznit and instead of focusing on the fact that she's actually having fun everyone was busy getting worried that this was going to be another Break It. Bitches were wrong. The queen is serving me hip, chic, split-screen, bimbadabee badadi badaboom, trippy-illuminati-effects, flawless girly scene with bangs, Zedd-produced, ad-libbing flawlessness ALL in one video. When will your fave? I want Namie to shout in my ear like that everyday.

[Music Video] Namie Amuro - Hands On Me

YAS. THIS IS EVERYTHING THAT I NEED. Namie Slaymuro just made ayumi hamasaki fans get a refund for those 15th Anniversary tour tickets because they know what's good for them and know what wouldn't make their ears bleed. Let's not even get started on Namie's dancing - for once, bitch ain't recycling dem' dance moves. That 30 seconds are all I need to know that Namie has still got it, and will have it longer than your fave.

Other than being unable to discern anything else other than "beating like a drum!" and "put your hands on me", which cumulatively make up like, 80% of the song, everything else is on. point. Dance moves? On point. Location? On point. Video execution? On point. This is what you get when you name your new label Dimension Point. Because everything is gonna be ON POINT.

[Music Video] Namie Amuro - Big Boys Cry

Is this a dream? Is this a miracle? No, it's Namie Amuro finally showing some effort put into a music video. Sure it's your usual dance dance sit and smile sit and smile kind of music video, but hey - there are white kids gasping at her at the beginning. For Namie's standards that's a shit ton of effort right there.

[Music Video] Koda Kumi - Lovely

I listened to the original version of the song at first. I heard the first minute of the song and I cringed. When I found out the whole song was 7 minutes long, I cringed even more. The very thought of the fact that Kuu will be covering this song knocked me out for a whole 10 minutes.

But after watching the music video, the song is actually tolerable! It's sort of like how Bambi was in Dejavu - it's a cutesy song but it's not an overkill. I can't say the same for the music video - now that's intolerable. I couldn't even get past 2 minutes. It's like that one recurring nightmare I had where Kuu's Wonderland PV just kept replaying. I was never the same person since then.

[Music Video] ayumi hamasaki - Melody

It seems like ayumi hotmessaki has saved the best for last. That doesn't say much though, because her music videos in the LOVE again era are enough evidence to show that she is slowly heading towards the Utada Hikaru direction PV-wise.

[Music Video] Namie Amuro - Damage

Now we know what happened to the budget that avex didn't give ayumi hotmessaki. Namie is already promoting this ~*digital single*~ in proportions more than Ayu would give for her 5-months-5-release nonsense.

Sure it looks like a more high-budgeted, better version of Break It with dance moves she's done a thousand times before, but this shit looks good. And for a 35-year-old woman, Namie looks as badass as those text effects I did in the image above. God dammit, I'm only 17 and I already look like shit. The special effects, cinematography and editing in this video alone makes this one of the better PVs we've seen in J-Pop this year.

[Music Video] Koda Kumi - Koishikute

I was personally looking forward to seeing Koda Kums show off her brand-new mobile phone in her latest PV for Koishikute, but I guess now that she's married she's got nobody to really break up with anymore. It's so funny how they decided to use the outfit she looked the shittiest in for the single covers.

It was pretty hilarious because essentially, in the PV, all she did was to walk by a subway platform, accidentally knock into someone, cry, and then collapse to the ground (talk about a fragile little bitch "DON'T TOUCH ME T_T") while occasionally singing in front of a grand orchestra. The latter, I loike, although I'm not too big a fan of that obnoxious nude-coloured dress that makes her look like a cake. I also thought it was disturbing to see her just obliviously standing beside a piano that was PLAYING BY ITSELF and that black thing around her eyes was totally able to make her unrecognizable.

While it is a pretty song and I kinda do like it, I still think that it doesn't really stand out much and she's done better ballads in the past. But hey, new material is new material!

[Music Video] ayumi hamasaki's 2 latest short PVs

When I first watched the ever-lame short version PV for Song 4 u, I was expecting it to go down like this: with those god awful claws they have on their fingers, they'll be cutting the shit out of each other's faces. The 2 queens eventually go face-to-face and they have a final showdown a la Madonna's Die Another Day style and eventually one of them dies.

Reality: a lot of walking up to each other and simply staring at each other until one of them disappears into thin air (???).

And don't get your hopes up with the ever-promising "to be continued..." at the end, guys. Some people have seen the full PV already. Looking at the short PV is enough of a waste of everyone's time.

So does shit get real? No it does not. Spoiler alert: at the end, the queens walk up to each other, engage in an exhilarating stare battle and the screen FADES TO BLACK! Totally did not see that coming!

Ayu is so lazy with her PVs nowadays, it's easy to conclude that bitch doesn't even wanna try anymore.  Either that or she's not bringing avex enough dough to up her budget. It would have made the PV so much better if it were actually interspersed with a second setting. Even Ayu in her pyjamas sitting on a foldable chair while lip syncing over-dramatically (crying optional) filmed using a shitty 5MP smartphone camera would help.

That's not to say I totally hate the video, of course. I'd definitely watch this than see her in a gaudy flower dress walking around an alternate universe while being chased by some giant women, occasionally sitting on a chair with a giant pearl necklace wrapped around herself awkwardly. Sounds familiar?

I have nothing to say about Ayu in the Missing PV other than the fact that she's crying again with her pale-as-fuck skin walking through some field for the whole course of the video. I have to admit some of the shots are really pretty though. She probably likes her men in bed like how it shows in the PV - flying from one end to the other. throwing their back out doing continuous backflips.

Also throwing in the CM for LOVE because she's gonna need the promotion anyway. Avex, you're welcome:

[Music Video] Koda Kumi - Go to the top

Within months after popping out her new baby, Koda Kums is already releasing her next single Go to the top which is in all honesty quite average and I don't quite like it.

The PV is also meh but it's not like I'm expecting her to immediately go in front of the camera to twerk her ass but ok I'll take it either way. I like how they decided to "announce" an upcoming winter ballad single coming in December because 10 years later when we all watch this again we'll totally still think that there's a new single coming. Meanwhile all I see in the PV is boobs, boobs, and boobs. It's like that one anime I watched where everyone had really huge boobs that I think that pretty much ended up being the plot of the anime.

[Music Video] VERBAL - BLACK OUT feat. Namie Amuro & Lil' Wayne

Talk about an oopsie whoopsie! VERBAL probably feels like shit now, because apparently the video that was never supposed to see the light of day (har har har) is now out in its full glory, and in fact, has already been since last year. I guess this late discovery makes sense because the video totally looks cheap and fanmade. Despite that, I still like it. At least it has its own unique points although they clearly had a small budget given that they had to cut short Lil Wayne's part obviously so that they can create lesser animations, duh. I can't help but laugh at the birdcage on VERBAL's head though. Sorry, I just can't.

Trivia time! VERBAL did not intend to release this video because it reminded him of the dark times (har har har) from last year when the March 2011 earthquakes happened as it was planned to be released during that time as well. However, it's probably because he didn't like the edited outcome and doesn't want to embarrass himself.

UPDATE: The video has been changed to Private apparently but you can still view it via her unofficial Facebook page here

[Music Video] Crystal Kay - What We Do

Ma gurl Kuri Kuri, despite having pretty shit sales, managed to still make another music video for What We Do! Then again, that's probably because of the fact that it's partly sponsored by LOUNGEDRESS which is a... clothing line? Brand? I dunno, all I know is they have clothes, and the video sure is one hell of a clothes-fest in the video. 75% of the video is of Kuri and 9000 other friends, or maybe only 2 but they all look the same anyway, getting all dolled up and deciding on what clothes to wear, and they are either indecisive as hell, or that is a subtle-but-not-really product placement. Heheheheheh. The other 25% of the video is Crystal serving up some hot choreography again. Lavvit!

You can watch the video embedded below from wat.tv or here at MTV Japan.

ayumi hamasaki releases short edit of You & Me PV

Ano natsu no! Omoi de wa! Ima mo mada, azayaka na mama! whatever that means.

I am pleasantly surprised by the fact that Ayu actually looks younger than her age here! This is probably her best PV since the Rock'n'Roll Circus era, and let's not even start with the PVs from the Party Queen era. At least she's not trying to act all hip and shit hanging out with people half her age.

Essentially, this PV is a cheap version of Rihanna's We Found Love without the drugs (even the cheap dance music sounds similar) + Madonna's Ray of Light, because we all know Madonna invented time lapse scenes. Closer to home, this PV is like the gyaru sequel to glitter except now she doesn't need a translator.

I don't know why but I'm not particularly fond of how Maro looks like here. He looks like how he usually is but something just doesn't feel right. Maybe he's just getting old. I'd love to see 2NE1 and Ayu get down and have a lip syncing battle. Ayu is like on the other end of the spectrum from 2NE1, with the most exaggerated lip-syncing since Mirrorcle World. OH FRIDAY NITE

It's a pity that everything about this could be improved on, like the production of the song and everything. It would have helped make the PV itself look better in a way too. It's all your fault, TK. Either way, I'm still excited to see how the rest of the PV will look like. Not sure if it's just going to be Ayu and Maro frolicking around to show Mannie she ain't need no Austrian man, because I'm hoping for some other stuff that will put the PVs of fairyland and BLUE BIRD to shame. What is the mysterious scene at the end of the clip with an Ayu who seems to be delirious after seeing what could be Maro completely naked? Is someone going to die in the end? Jeng jeng jeng...

[Music Video] 2NE1 - I LOVE YOU

2NE1's music video for their latest single, I LOVE YOU recently got uploaded on their official YouTube channel.

I don't know what the hell is going on in the video, but I'm still very disturbed by how Minzy is only a year older than me and yet looks so mature here. She be all like YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH but I'm like WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH KEEP YOUR PANTS ON GURL

Anyway, I just posted this up because I'd like to tell the girls to get their shit together. What kind of shit lip syncing is this? Really? I used to think only Park Bom has this issue, but this video just proves that this problem is contagious. They should have spent the video's budget on lip syncing lessons instead of the Versace-fest in this video.

The award for the best lip-syncing goes to CL at the 2:42 mark. Can someone tell me what the hell she was thinking? I am so damn sure she probably forgot the lyrics and was just going with the lyrics on the spot, thus ending up with this mess.

The editors must have had a really hard time trying to fit the song with their horrible lip-syncing. At least on the positive side, this song is actually pretty darn catchy, but all is well until Park Bom opens her mouth. I shall now publicly show my dislike for Park Bom! Her voice doesn't even fit in with the rest, and I don't care what sort of weird medical throat condition she has that I may have read about 10 years ago. Stay pretty, Dara.

[Music Video] JASMINE - Best Partner

The music video for JASMINE's Best Partner has been uploaded by Sony on their YouTube channel and gurl be lookin' fiiiiiine!

This is easily not only the best music video ever done by JASMINE (finally something with more than a 1000 yen budget) but also her best song ever released. It's like your typical sad to say, ONLY YOU-esque R&B song except this is going to snatch some serious wigs and the song just sounds really heartwarming to me although I don't understand any of the lyrics except the words "Best Partner".

I think the music video touches on the theme of domestic violence, or at least that's what my low-IQ mind comprehends. I was mostly distracted by how pretty JASMINE looks and how the camera focused on the numerous tattoos each of the 3 people in the video had. Yeah, I get it, you love tattoos. Nonetheless, JASMINE, you have finally grasped the idea of a decent music video. Keep it up, gurl.

You can watch the video after the jump. The bad news, however, is that Sony is being a tightarse by only allowing the people in Japan to watch it. The good news is, you can always use a Japan proxy here. Or you can watch it on her official website gallery or Youku instead. You're welcome, everybody.
