[Cover Art] Namie Amuro - FEEL

CD+Blu-ray | CD+DVD | CD Only

Just when you thought Namie Slaymuro is done, she's not. To compensate for the three-year-gap between Uncontrolled and PAST < FUTURE, Namie is going to release an album in July, titled FEEL. Everyone's tired of the "lol she can't feel" jokes now so I shall spare you the misery. Nonetheless, bitch is gonna slay with this shit. There are rumours that the album is going to be produced by Zedd, which just might burst ayumi hamasaki's ovaries.

Let's not even get started on the covers - that is some CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK realness. Essentially, the concept behind this album is going to be "don't hear, don't speak, don't see, just feel" or something like that, which also explains the reason behind the covers being black and white. I have no idea how you're going to feel a damn thing if she's telling you not to hear, but okay. Take several notes, Party Queen.

I wanted to get the Blu-ray edition then realised her PVs are shit boring anyway so I settled for the CD+DVD which has the better cover. I'm also glad the covers are not ruined by any form of shit typography (take several notes, LOVE, again, and LOVE again), which also somewhat makes the covers resemble a fragrance ad. Not complaining, though.

Speaking of pulling all the right career moves, Namie has also moved to a new sub-label of avex, "Dimension Point", and I'm really excited because I guess she has more creative freedom now than before. Basically things that Ayu should have done a damn long time ago. She's also going to kick off her new hall tour starting August, and I might actually travel to see her since her Singapore concert got cancelled.

[Cover Art] Namie serves up hot new cover for Damage

If Damage was released as an Ayu song, there'd be no photoshoot, no music video, no big drama tie-in and no other promotional efforts whatsoever. But Namie is different. Not only did she have an entirely new fierce photoshoot just for the single, but she's also filmed a music video for it. The best part of all? She looks bangin' and has managed to keep her fivehead from stealing all the limelight in this close-up shot.

Namie should count her blessings that she has such a great team. I'd say it's one of the best teams to work with especially when you're at the point where without them, you'd fall into ayumi hamasaki territory, which even Kato Miliyah is falling into.

[Cover Art] Superfly - Force

I thought the cover for her debut album was pretty shit, but since then her subsequent album covers have been looking pretty damn good! Loving the simplicity of this and for once, they're finally not gonna use Cooper Black for all the text. The idea of putting Superfly at her collarbone is pretty lame though, it could've been better without it.

Nonetheless I'm looking forward to this album which will be released in September although it was announced in like, 1932 or something. From what I've been hearing from her Facebook videos the songs seem pretty amazing too! I liked Superfly and Box Emotions, but the album tracks on Mind Travel kinda fell flat for me, so hopefully Force will be better. Plus it's her 5th anniversary this year too! Time fliiiiies.

[Cover Art] ayumi hamasaki - A SUMMER BEST

A SUMMER BEST (CD+DVD)

Wait no longer! High resolution cover arts for the album everyone in Japan and Uganda are anticipating so much, ayumi hamasaki's A SUMMER BEST, have been released!

There's good news and bad news. The good news is, Ayu is actually not doing any fish lips here. The bad news is, as a form of compensation, Ayu has decided to choose the 2CD cover to pay homage to the CD only cover of (miss)understood and CD+DVD cover of glitter / fated, except much worse.

I don't know if avex is trying to pull some irony stunt here because those covers are all antonyms of "best". Okay, maybe not the 2CD+DVD one on the left, but the 2CD one looks like it came straight from hell. Admittedly, compared to the mess that were the Party Queen covers, this is a huge improvement. The 2CD+DVD cover is actually the best cover she's released yet for 2012. But the abomination on the right just looks like shit. The fake tan made her look horrible there. Plus, her head looks so big that it looks like they photoshopped her head on someone else's. At least now I can look at the cover of Mika Nakashima's VOICE without cringing.
